Is A Christian Using The “Bible-only” To Define His Religion…?
kinda like a doctor using only his Biology textbook when performing surgery? You expect your doctor to rely on his own personal experiences as well as the book, don’t you? Wouldn’t you even go as far as to hope the doctor would ignore a certain part of the book if his personal experiences have taught him that another method is better? So why should we cripple ourselves by tethering ourselves to a 2000+ year old book, and ignore all the scientific evidence and life experiences that God has given us since then that completely transcend the Bible?
You haven’t actually read the new test have you?I’m thinking God is big has put in his book what God wants. “capture is for correction and reproof.”I’ll choose the bible over what you say.
Doctors are smart.
Christians are arrogant and irrational.
Biology textbook is full of proof.
Bible was written by power hungry monks thousands of years ago.
You can’t compare the two.
My thoughts exactly! And because people do not use their minds intelligently a lot of hate and discontent are spread.
Because the Bible has
NEVER,
been
PROVEN,
wrong
EVERYTHING,
ELSE,
HAS.
So why
NOT,
define by what the Bible teaches?
What scientific evidence? Equivalence of mass and energy? God is Light? Yes! At first was God and God created everything. So, God created the materials to make that textbook. Think about it.
Because that would invalidate alot of the churches rules. many of the things that people once took laterally from the bible are proven false by modern science. rather than be called liars or misinterperitors, the church found it easier to say that science, with all its experiments and hard facts, somehow was wrong and that God plants false evidence or some nonsense.
if the church didn’t follow only the book they would have to get off their fat lazy asses and do some work.
Even Paul didn’t limit himself to scripture. He didn’t hesitate to quote Greek poets and philosophers when it suited his purposes. In Acts, he even incorporated a pagan god into a sermon to gain converts: he said that the god that the “Altar to the Unknown God” was dedicated to was in fact the god he was preaching, then proceded to preach the gospel.
Sola Scriptura is completely untenable when even the early apostles didn’t go by it.
