Any Advice In Reference To Marine Biology?

I am a freshman in college at a private Christian school in Arkansas. I am a Biblical Studies and Theology major, with a few minors (also in the Bible division). Ever since I was a kid, I have been fascinated with water and animals. This is everything from the zoo to the Jason Project to Robert Ballard’s discovering of the Titanic to the aquarium. Do you have any recommendations for a student wishing to become someone learned in Marine Biology? It is something I would love to be an amateur at, and possibly take some classes later on in life. I feel that learning about the earth and what occupies it/what it consists of is directly correlated to my major, and feel that it would be a great thing for me to study. Any book recommendations, programs, or words of advice?Abounding in the work of the Lord, hm05flashOtis, I am in no way suggesting that I want to be a Marine Biologist/Zoologist when I grow up. I plan on working within the ministry one way or another, but I feel compelled to Marine Biology/Zoology. I am not wondering what college would best provide a new career opportunity, but rather curious as to ways to introduce myself into the study of said subject. It is something I would love to study (not work, per-se).

Get your head out of the fascination with campfire stories and some meaning of them and get to a research 1 university with a marine zoology program. It doesn’t mean you don’t believe in God. It means you are a realist looking for a personally rewarding carree. I took some classes at LUCOM which is part of LSU not that far from you. No one in science will ever hire someone that is vocal about any religion because of the diversity of the people that work in it. I have learned from many other cultures from people I have worked with. No one book has all the ansewers.
